A place for folks who are still researching the homesteading lifestyle or want to start slow.

About

My name is Taryn Bainum. I am married with three young boys and live in a mid-sized city in Texas. I spent 8 years as a critical care pharmacist and a professor at a school of pharmacy and am now employed at a local hospital as an antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist. Simply put, my goal is to ensure appropriate antibiotic use and avoid unnecessary antibiotic use. My husband works for a utility company and frankly, his job goes way over my head. He is excellent at building things and fixing things, so I am extremely grateful for his skills.

Earlier this year, I started down the rabbit hole of homesteading ventures and am in the process of learning new skills. Though many aspects of homesteading appeal to me, there are some I am still researching or unable to do at the moment given our suburban location. I started this blog to walk with other people who are interested in homesteading activities, but might be unable or even unwilling to dive in all the way. Come along side me as I post my trials and errors, triumphs, and research into homesteading life.
